about my grammer you can bite my spell check.
There is a local radio channel that I listen to nightly 6-8 pm and the show is named after a certian wrestler in the WWE.The guy is a personal friend of mine I just thought I'd give him a shout out.
He loves Alabama football, strongley dislikes Auburn as we both have agreed hate is a powerful word.
He knows what he is talking about and with the right marketing and a better time slot I believe Paul Finebaum would be out of a job right now...I strongly dislike Finebaum..I don't like how treats his callers and some of his opinions lurk me and make scratch my head with my trigger finger.Ryan Fowler is the F'n Man.He has dedication and shows up for work and I like listening to him.I started listening to the show when one night Doug Gotlieb stopped coming on and I heard a little voice say hello welcome to the Game this is Ryan Fowler alongside Trent Davidson been watching ever since.I am as dedicated to following this show as I was that little boy who started watching pro wrestling all those years ago.
Ryan Fowler gave me new appreciation for the crimson tide. All those months ago he was the only radio host in the state of alabama to claim that there would be a rematch between LSU and Alabama for the NC and he was right. He puts his heart out on his sleeve for his audience and he is very informative and he doesn't deal with rumors like Finebaum he deals in factuality....and has a faithful following. He has saved sports radio in the tuscaloosa area....when Vince Ferrarra left and the Tusk went under I didn't think tuscaloosa radio would ever be the same but Ryan Fowler is a game changer for this listener.Even when I have been dealing with the cards dealt to me I still get cheered up by a guy I am proud to call my friend.
I listen to alot of radio since Tv is crap these days.everything has gone reality or Oprah owns it.
So if your traveling into tuscaloosa on a week night around the hours of 6 and 8 turn to 99.1 and listen to Ryan Fowler and Mick who has been calling in via phone these days cause of his commitments to baseball leaving Ryan to come up with his witty banter on the fly with the fans.
If you like Alabama football and like listening to passionate tide talk than this your kinda show.
He does talk about other sports, don't get me wrong but usually 99.1 percent of the time like the channel the show comes on its about tide football. He is a homer and proud of his roots.
Now I turn my attention to Michigan Wolverines...I don't give out score predictions all I will say is alabama will win big in Jerry Jones stadium and they will be number 1 when its all said and done.

My Wrestling Universe
Disclaimer:I am not a professional writer so if you want to write a smart remark
about my grammer you can bite my spell check.
In the 80s it was WWF vs NWA
In the 90s it was WWF vs WCW
in the 2000s it was WWF vs itself...
in the year 2012 it is WWE vs TNA
I am on the fence about who I cheer for.I am a fan of all types of wrestling.Thumb wrestling,Video game wrestling, play by mail...it doesn't matter...ok here is my view about the state of today Wrestling as a whole
Wrestlers taking performance enhancing drugs was a common thing in the hey day when WWE was pushing monsters mainly due to their top babyface was 6'8,303 pounds and was a beast.
Than wrestling fans wanted to see something new and the baby faces started shrinking a little bit but the egos were still the same size. You had people screaming at eachother about performance and having the same crap shoved down our throats for ages and than wrestling got smart and wrestling fans turned into the wrestling writers and started writing real world type scenerios and the days of the missing link and Abdullah the butcher stabbing you with a fork were over..well some areas there is a rumor that Abdullah still lurks and he has his fork close by although he uses a spork now adays....
You got wrestlers trying to be movie stars and wrestlers who gave up trying to be movie stars.
You got Twitter and face book and wrestlers lashing out at their employers and top headliners out of utter jealously....and you got some wrestlers who are awesome people and aren't over in flated as you think they are in reality. They just act like it on tv to put on a show.A show that used to be worth watching but like any good lover I come back for a piece when its good and hot and stay around even in the bad times.
Alot of people think you have to be a wrestler to be a a good wrestler but now adays you can get by on your ability to sell yourself and talk on the microphone in the world of tv wrestling.
Guys on the indys and some in the big time who still wrestle but have miminal or lack of mic skills wouldn't last a week in WWE or TNA.Wrestling today is a new breed of dog.Its based around television and ratings....If real life was based on ratings I would of been put on the shelf along time ago.
I know wrestling history but do I know about wrestling psychology....probably not...do I know what i want to see...probably so but one guy isn't going to change the view of Vincent K.McMahon
I can tell a good tale and spin a good yarn and bullshit with the best of them but does that qualify me to be in a booking meeting that is an estounding no...I belong in front of the tv supporting my heroes and schilling out for their merchandise.Thats my role in this little world

wrestling and me
Disclaimer:I am not a professional writer so if you want to write a smart remark about my grammer you can bite my spell check.
29 years ago I was watching cartoons and suddenly my grandfather entered the room and flipped the channel to two guys fighting each other inside an arena filled with people screaming and cheering thus my romance with Wrestling began I had never been exposed to the world of pro wrestling at that time.Up until than all I was worried about was mighty mouse and seeing if Wiley Coyote would ever catch that dreaded road runner but my grandfather was a fan of wrestling and when he sat down in his chair to watch tv you pretty much had to watch what he wanted to watch and I am glad I did. Every saturday Morning I'd make a point of it to get off the floor and walk over to the tv set and turn it over to pro wrestling and everytime one of my favorites were in peril and getting beat up I'd root them on until they made their comeback and won the match or bowed out with grace to set up the next match. Before I knew wrestling was fixed...not fake but fixed I always thought it was the coolest thing in the world.I think I went to school and learned to read and write just so I could understand the inner workings of a wrestler's mind but when it all comes down to it they are as real as us even if what they do to put food and clothes on their family and pay their bills is entertainment.People call wrestling fans marks but what really is a mark but a wrestling fan.I have loved pro wrestling since I was wearing my he-man under roos and I will always be a wrestling fan until they put me in that pine box and bury me deep in the ground.Do I always agree with the stories and developments going on.I'd be lying if I said I did but not once in my life have I ever turned away from wrestling. When life has gotten me down I always knew I had pro wrestling to fall back on.Wrestling for me was an hour or two...now three, four or five to escape from reality for a while and when I emersed myself into the world of wrestling I got deep.If you know me,than you know I live and breath wrestling.
I'll spend my last dollar on a product related to wrestling. Is it right? Is it wrong?ask me if I care and I will tell you I don't.I have given my life blood to pro wrestling.Made friends world wide and even a few wrestlers along the way and I am glad for it.Alot of people look at fans of pro wrestling and think they are high brow or not all there but what do you say to those same people who sit in front of a tv and watch some old men hit a golf ball or those other sports fans who fill sports stadiums and get rowdy when their favorite player scores a touchdown..not a thing because its accepted.I used to imagine myself as a pro wrestler like other kids pretend to be superman and I'd have hours of battles with my stuffed animals and even a regular sofa cushion pretending they were the villians from tv and put together matches against thin air and emulate what I saw on tv.I'd sit in classrooms and write out match cards and take construction paper and make title belts and philfer them around the house and be constantly hollared at by mom and dad to clean up the mess...but they weren't a mess they were my belts.my trophies.I wasn't athletic by all means so I'd never win a MVP trophy but having those title belts and using scotch tape to fit them around my waist and parading around the house and sometimes the neighborhood wearing said title belts meant alot to me.I'd go look at wrestling magazines down at the local convience store and if they were any good I'd purchase the book and take it home and cherish it until I got lazy and it got trashed.I will always cherish those loving memories at my peak.
When WM came out I thought it was awesome that my dad got it on VHS from the local store so me and my two older brothers could watch it.Around this time like all wrestling fans I was becoming a hulk a maniac but I was always a fan of WTBS.I was a georgia championship wrestling kid even as a western new yorker I loved that wrestling down south and when WWF bought it I thought it was the coolest thing because I would get to see more of my favorite wrestler of all time Hulk Hogan but it didn't last long.when USA got there hands on WWF tv I was too young to sit up at night and watch prime time wrestling and my area didn't get USA for some cable beaurocratic reason it wasn't featured in our area for a couple years but my Aunt June was a life saver. She'd tape Prime Time every monday night and bring it to me on the weekends to watch and I'd watch it repeatedly.I saw Andre the Giant's heel turn and like Hulk Hogan's years later it broke my little heart to pieces.
Seeing Andre walking side by side with Bobby Heenan made me sick to my stomach. My parents were in middle of a bad time and I shifted back and forth with my brothers between mom and dad for a while until they got back together.through all the personal drama in my life I had wrestling and I relied on it and I still do today. When I had to relocate from the north to the south where everyone cared about college football I used pro wrestling as a social tool and I met some good friends who I am still proud to call my friends today because of wrestling.
When the internet was created by Al Gore...so he claims first thing I ever did was try to look up pro wrestling and at the time the websites were limited but today they are everywhere. So if you miss a tv show all you have to do is go to your favorite wrestling website.mine is www.prowrestling.net but I am sure others have their other favorites anyway thats another thing. The suspense in pro wrestling isn't the same for me as it used to be.I used to be on my toes waiting for the next weeks episode of wrestling challenge or superstars or wcw power hour or saturday night just to see what would happen next but now I already know what happens next because of the power of the internet and spoilers...I despise spoilers but sometimes they can be benifitial if you don't have the time to sit there and watch a program you can point and click on your mouse and the results are right there for you.
I will always love Pro wrestling but I don't have to always like it or agree with it but I am gonna watch it.So Pro Wrestling I pubically profess my love for you and I am glad we have stuck by eachother all these years like an old married couple.L ike Bill Apter used to say see you at the matches I say see you in my next blog.thanks for reading
